title: "1886 — Lever-Action Named Rifle Guide & Stats (TU22.1)" description: "1886 named lever-action rifle guide for The Division 2: damage, RPM, builds, talents, and how it compares to other rifles." weapon: "1886" class: "Rifle" subtype: "Lever-Action" baseDamage: 250000 rpm: 100 mag: 7 reload: 2.5 headshotMultiplier: 2.0 updated: "2026-04-25" patch: "TU22.1"

At a Glance

The 1886 is the named lever-action rifle in The Division 2 and one of the highest per-shot damage weapons in the entire game. Firing at 100 RPM with a seven-round magazine and a 250k base damage value, the 1886 produces the kind of single-shot kills that define a memorable headshot rifle build. The x2.0 headshot multiplier means a clean head hit on a Heroic red can produce a million-plus damage tick before any build buffs even apply.

In TU22.1 the 1886 is firmly in the upper tier of marksman-style rifles. The Lever-action category is small in The Division 2 and the 1886 is the best-feeling pickup in it, edging out the Surge and competing directly with the Mantis and Custom Tactical M1A for headshot-build slots.

The 1886 is the rifle for agents who can place their shots. It rewards consistent headshot accuracy more than any other rifle in the game and it punishes body shots with disappointing damage relative to the headshot ceiling.

Stats

Stat Value
Base Damage 250,000
Rounds Per Minute 100
Magazine 7
Reload Time 2.5 s
Headshot Multiplier x2.0
Optimal Range 25–60 m
Damage Falloff Start 50 m
Damage Falloff End 80 m

The 250k base damage is among the highest of any non-exotic rifle. With the x2.0 headshot multiplier, a clean head hit produces 500k base before any build buffs apply. On a fully optimized Vigilance Glass Cannon build, that figure scales past 4 million per shot, which is one-shot territory for any red on Heroic and most purples.

The 100 RPM trigger is slow but acceptable for the weapon's role. Lever-action rifles are not designed for sustained fire — they are designed for accurate, deliberate shots, and 100 RPM gives you enough cadence to chain kills without forcing you into a panic-fire situation.

The seven-round magazine is generous for a lever-action and the 2.5-second reload is acceptable. Headshot multiplier of x2.0 is the highest in the rifle family outside of the marksman rifle category.

Talent

The 1886 is a named weapon and rolls a fixed talent: Lucky Strike. Lucky Strike grants the weapon a chance on hit to grant 5% weapon damage for 5 seconds, stacking up to 10 times. The stacks build quickly with consistent fire and produce a 50% weapon damage buff at maximum. It is not the strongest talent in the rifle family but it is a respectable damage scaler that works on virtually every build.

In PvE, Lucky Strike is a steady damage upgrade that does not require any specific gear synergy. In PvP, the talent is less impactful because Conflict and DZ engagements rarely last long enough to build full stacks.

The 1886 cannot be re-rolled to a different talent. If you want a different lever-action talent profile, you are looking at the wrong weapon.

Top Builds

Vigilance Glass Cannon 1886

The signature headshot-rifle build. Vigilance triples damage out as long as you are not taking damage, and Glass Cannon doubles damage in and out. The 1886's x2.0 headshot multiplier scales catastrophically under both buffs, producing one-shot kills on Heroic reds and reliable two-shots on purples. Run Picaro's Holster, Fox's Prayer, and a four-piece Striker for stack maintenance.

Memento Rifle Build

Memento backpack stacks weapon damage as you pick up trophies dropped by kills. The 1886's high per-shot damage means every kill produces a trophy and the stacks build quickly. This is the most flexible build for the 1886 because Memento works in every game mode without configuration.

Striker 1886

Six-piece Striker with the 1886 is a niche but viable build for solo Heroic. Striker stacks build per hit and the 1886 produces consistent hits on its 100 RPM trigger. This is the build to run if you want sustained DPS on the 1886 rather than burst-damage one-shots.

PvE-PvP

In PvE the 1886 is a top-three headshot rifle. It does not produce the sustained DPS of a Custom Tactical M1A and it does not have the magazine of a Police Mk16, but its per-shot damage is the highest of any rifle outside of the marksman rifle category. Heroic Hunter HVTs, named bosses, and red elites all live in one-shot range of a fully buffed 1886 on a clean headshot.

In PvP the 1886 is a respected pick for agents who can place their shots consistently. The x2.0 headshot multiplier scales cleanly through PvP normalization and produces two-shot kills on most agents at engagement ranges. The 100 RPM trigger means you cannot panic-fire your way out of a bad position, however, so the 1886 punishes inexperienced PvP players harder than a faster rifle would.

FAQ

Is the 1886 better than the Custom Tactical M1A? For per-shot damage and headshot scaling, yes. For sustained DPS, no. The 1886 wins headshot-build comparisons and the M1A wins body-shot sustained-fire comparisons.

What is the best talent for the 1886? Lucky Strike is fixed on the weapon. If you want a different talent, you need a different lever-action rifle, which limits you to the Surge or a base lever-action pickup.

Can the 1886 one-shot reds on Heroic? Yes, on a clean headshot with Vigilance Glass Cannon, a fully buffed Memento stack, or a top-tier Striker build. Body shots will not produce one-shot kills on Heroic reds.

Is the 1886 viable in PvP? Yes, for agents who can place their shots. The two-shot kill on most agents at headshot range is competitive in Conflict, and the seven-round magazine gives you enough rounds to handle multi-target engagements.

Closing

The 1886 is the highest per-shot damage rifle in the lever-action category and one of the strongest headshot-build weapons in The Division 2. It does not have the sustained DPS of an M1A and it does not produce the room-clear potential of an LMG, but its single-shot kill ceiling is among the highest in the game.

In 2026 the 1886 sits in the top tier of named rifles. It rewards accurate play more than any other rifle in the game and it punishes body shots harder than the SR-1 or the Mantis. On a Vigilance Glass Cannon or Memento build, it produces engagement outcomes that no other lever-action can match.
